The purpose of the program is to give young people, who live in Adams County and are in 4-H or FFA, an opportunity to learn how to care and raise livestock. The Rural Development Committee will provide to approved applicants either 4 pigs or 3 sheep to raise and show at this year’s Adams County Fair. There is a $75 fee per participant.
Once approved, information will be sent on where and when to pick up your animals. A member of the Rural Development Committee will be assigned as a mentor for each participant. Participants must care for their animals, show at the Adams County Fair that year, AND fill out and return the reports by the middle of September in order to qualify for a rebate of their participant fee.
More information is available on the Form or contact Beth at the ACEDC office.
