The district has two campuses. East campus in Corning has an Early Childhood Education Center, Corning Elementary and Southwest Valley High School. West campus in Villisca that houses Enarson Elementary with its Early Childhood Education Center and Southwest Valley Middle School – home to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

Capturing Kids Hearts

Teachers use “Capturing Kids’ Hearts” model to build relationships with their students. Southwest Valley School district offers many programs including STEM, ELP and Interventions, and RAVE- an afterschool program. Our educators utilize the latest technologies and learning methods to reach and teach each student including Promethean boards installed in every classroom as well as a state-of-the-art greenhouse.

Students enjoy tremendous community support. The citizens of area communities provide both financial and emotional support for both educational and extra-curricular activities within the school district.

Corning Elementary

Your 4-year-old may be eligible to attend a morning or afternoon session 4 days a week, with Mondays off for students. Corning Elementary offers a free preschool for children in the community.

Early Childhood Education Center

Located in Corning, ECEC provides quality childcare to develop a loving, caring, and rich learning environment catering to the children’s individual needs. They focus on giving each child the skills they need, academically and socially, to be successful and create a positive family atmosphere to make them feel at home. Southwestern Community College (SWCC)

Southwestern Community College (SWCC), located in Creston, has been serving Adams County and several other southwest Iowa counties since 1966. SWCC, a comprehensive two-year public institution, also has centers in Osceola and Red Oak.

Creston campus started offering classes in 1986. 100 percent of associate degrees from SWCC transfer to BVU.
