If you start the day early enought you’ll be able to drive to FSC Mart and fill up with E-85 for your hybrid vehicle and grab a slice of pizza (also available at Casey’s or Breadeaux Pizza.) Or if you have time to sit down for your meal, you might like a hot beef sandwich or other quick lunch at Boz’s Kitchen,.
Then travel four miles north to Lake Icaria for your weekend of camping (electric hookups, dump station, and showers) or reserve one of the 14 cabins (sleeping or full service). Seven hundred acres of water awaits you at just perfect for fishing (large mouth bass, walleye, blue gill, crappie, muskie, and channel catfish). Fishing is remarkable off the handicapped pier, docks or from your 300 horsepower boat. Grills and picnic areas are available for those hamburgers and steaks. The afternoon can be spent playing sand volleyball and swimming at the beach.
Sundays in the summer time, you can browse the Prescott Kline Museum. An assortment of farm machinery, steamers, cars, furniture, lamps, musical instruments, tools and toys, await your perusal. Next, stop and pick up a basketball game at the Prescott Park.
If you’re visiting Corning in July, you don’t want to miss the Arts & Cars – It’s a Gas! Festival. Join the fun Friday night with mouth-watering BBQ with a little something to quench your thirst, along with some toe tapping music. The next morning starts with the annual Doctor’s Dash, different races to fit your style. American Legion Antique and Classic Car Show and take home some tasty smoked Bar-B-Que!
