Corning's Center Base Preschool is located in Corning Elementary. Children with learning delays are eligible beginning at three years of age. The half day program provides quality learning for the children. Individual goals based on the child's strengths guide the small group and one-on-one instruction is provided during the school day. They play hard and learn a lot.

Corning Head Start is an accredited, federally funded program through the department of Health and Human Services, which serves 3 to 5 year olds. Children learn language, literacy, mathematics, science, creative art, as well as social, emotional and physical health and development. Children who are eligible received medical and dental care, healthy meals and enjoy playing outside in a safe setting.

Fall of 2009 finds Creative Corners dissolving, but the program will now be administered by the School. The changes came about to meet the requirements of $90,000 Universal Preschool Grant awarded recently to the District. 4 year olds will be able to attend a full-day program at the elementary on MWF for $90 a month. 3-year olds will have a half day program on TTH for $70 per month. Scholarships are available and will be funded by money left in the Creative Corner account and through Adams County Empowerment.

Hearts and Hugs was established to provide quality child care that meets the needs of families in Corning and the surrounding area. The daycare center is a family-oriented facility whose goal is to furnish a nurturing environment for children to learn, play and grow in. Positive Approach Preschool has served three and four year olds in Adams County since 1996. It is a state-funded, locally operated shared Vision grant recipient that provides preschool five days a week. Positive Approach is nationally accredited from the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Preschool services are provided free or at a reduced cost for qualifying families.
