It all started when Maria graduated from Dental School! We needed a place to set up her practice; I would need a place to work; and the family would need a place to stay. We had a great idea to buy a travel trailer and seek a community to live in. So we sold our home in Iowa city and off we went. 
The Des Moines Register printed an article about our adventure across Iowa nd we received many phone calls inviting us to visit many towns. We traveled to several communities across Iowa and chose Adams County! The decision came down to a need for a dentist, a great school for our 2 children, a possible job for Dave and just an overall great place to live and raise a family.
Nestled among the beautiful farm land and vast habitat of Adams County, Corning is a gem of a town. The town has a great main street community from the bakery to the Adams County Courthouse. A new Aquatic Center that rocks! Two great lakes to fish, camp, boat, hit the beach and play all day. With the summer being so short how can we get it all done! Adams County also has many wonderful people, attributes and for a rural community is progressive and forward thinking. This was obvious to us through the educational system as well. The teachers and staff are caring, and technology in the schools is very prevalent.
